In recent days, you may have heard five of the sweetest winter words known to humankind – “Pitchers and Catchers reporting in….”
This month’s Memorable City focuses on what has long been known as a baseball spring training haven – Tampa, Florida. Known as a treasure on Florida's west central coastline, Tampa boasts a heritage steep in Spanish explorers, cigar manufacturing, great food – and warm winter weather.
Following is a list of some of the “must see” things to do when visiting Tampa on business or pleasure . . .
Busch Gardens Africa
A rival to any of the Orlando parks, Busch Gardens is fun for kids of all ages. From roller coasters, to the Serengeti Plain, to the Brew Masters Club, there is definitely something for everyone at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

The Channelside entertainment district near downtown Tampa is a great place to spend an evening. Filled with restaurants featuring various cuisines, an upscale bowling alley, a 10-screen movie theater with an IMAX screen, nightclubs, and specialty retail shops, there is always something to entertain at Channelside. The area caters to families during the day, but after dark is popular with a 30+ bar crowd.

Located just northeast of downtown Tampa, Ybor City is a very historic area. The hub of Tampa's pre-Depression cigar trade, portions of the old neighborhood have been designated as a National Historic Landmark District, and several buildings in the area are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, Ybor City is primarily known as an entertainment district. With restaurants, nightclubs, and specialty retail shops, Ybor City is a must-see for any visitor to Tampa. And a great place to grab a really good cigar…
When in Florida, most people love a visit to an aquarium. With interactive exhibits such as swimming with the fish (for children ages 6 years and up who are comfortable in the water) or the Penguin Encounter, the Florida Aquarium is sure to delight. And since you’re in the Channelside area, plan on having a great lunch or dinner just down the street.

Where's the Beach?
Now, some of you may be asking, "Where's the sandy beach we see in the ads?" Well, there really aren’t any great beaches in Tampa. However, salty water and sand between your toes is roughly 15 minutes away in Clearwater Beach. For those who want a quieter, clear water experience and nature as it was intended, hop on a ferry to beautiful Caladesi Island State Park. Myaka State Park is located near Sarasota for those who want to experience Florida the way it was 60 years ago.
I have been working with TravelPlex for many years and I must say it has been a refreshing experience. Our travel needs often require instantaneous service, and they are always there for us. TravelPlex offers us great personal service, great pricing and a 24/7 hotline. To me, THAT equals a hat trick!
St. Louis Blues Hockey
We’ve been with TravelPlex for over 20 years. The lone exception is when we left them for (a mega travel agency). It took us about a year before we realized that the personal service and attention that the TravelPlex staff just wasn’t there with (the mega agency). Neither was the savings (the mega agency) promised. We were so low on the totem pole that we were lucky if we ever had anyone contact us. But at TravelPlex, the staff always goes above and beyond to make sure we get the best prices and that our travelers are always taken care of. TravelPlex makes all our travelers feel like VIP’s, and that’s important – and rare!
Carrie Willard is the reason I keep coming back to Travelplex. She is "WONDERFUL". She is always so helpful and goes the extra step to make sure everything is satisfactory and done the way the customer wants it. She always has a smile on her face, which is even apparent over the phone. I have entrusted our vacations with Carrie now for 3yrs and could never imagine using anyone else to help us plan our trips. I have referred at least 5 of my friends to her, and they all have had nothing but glowing remarks about Carrie. She is an asset to your company and exemplifies the true meaning of "CUSTOMER SERVICE".
With the announcement by President Trump on March 11th banning travel to/from Europe starting March 13th (Friday) starting at 11:59pm, TravelPlex has already been reaching out to our clients who are affected by this announcement.
What we do know about the travel ban at this point:
► It only applies to Foreign Nationals, American Citizens are not included in this ban.
►American Citizens returning to the United States after March 13th (Friday) at 11:59am, may be rerouted to ‘select’ US airports for advanced screening. Which ‘select’ US airports has not been announced as of March 12th, at 7am. (We will update this as soon as they are announced).

Steve created and nurtured the School of Imaging, which taught customers how to take better photographs and understand their cameras. It also took customers on many photographic journeys over the past 10 years. These trips have been very well attended. Generally, from 12 to 20 customers travel with Stephen and his other instructors.
