Last month’s Memorable City of Houston received more interest and viewings than any of our previous memorable city destinations. We decided to follow up Houston with this month’s Memorable City which will focus on that city by the bay - San Francisco. So, for all of you who may have an upcoming Trivia Night to prep for, or may know someone from the Golden Gate city and want to impress them with your knowledge, I present to you “Did You Know” facts about San Francisco.
DID YOU KNOW - the only National Historic Landmark that isn't stationary are the San Francisco Cable Cars. The cable cars have run up and down Nob Hill for over 100 years!
DID YOU KNOW - the bridge connecting San Francisco with the East Bay that suffered a partial collapse during the earthquake of the 1989 World Series is the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The east span of the Bay Bridge is currently being rebuilt. The old, cantilevered structure will eventually be replaced by a twin suspension bridge.
DID YOU KNOW – That Pier 7 – NOT Pier 39 - is actually known as the Fishing Pier?
The world-famous Pier 39 is a popular tourist attraction boasting fine cuisine (including clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl), a variety of shops, and many tourist attractions and entertainment selections.
DID YOU KNOW – After Manhattan, San Francisco is the second-most densely populated county in the nation, with 800,000+ people living within a scant seven by seven miles
DID YOU KNOW – The New York Giants baseball team left New York and moved to San Francisco, becoming the San Francisco Giants, in 1958.

I have been working with TravelPlex for many years and I must say it has been a refreshing experience. Our travel needs often require instantaneous service, and they are always there for us. TravelPlex offers us great personal service, great pricing and a 24/7 hotline. To me, THAT equals a hat trick!
St. Louis Blues Hockey
We’ve been with TravelPlex for over 20 years. The lone exception is when we left them for (a mega travel agency). It took us about a year before we realized that the personal service and attention that the TravelPlex staff just wasn’t there with (the mega agency). Neither was the savings (the mega agency) promised. We were so low on the totem pole that we were lucky if we ever had anyone contact us. But at TravelPlex, the staff always goes above and beyond to make sure we get the best prices and that our travelers are always taken care of. TravelPlex makes all our travelers feel like VIP’s, and that’s important – and rare!
Carrie Willard is the reason I keep coming back to Travelplex. She is "WONDERFUL". She is always so helpful and goes the extra step to make sure everything is satisfactory and done the way the customer wants it. She always has a smile on her face, which is even apparent over the phone. I have entrusted our vacations with Carrie now for 3yrs and could never imagine using anyone else to help us plan our trips. I have referred at least 5 of my friends to her, and they all have had nothing but glowing remarks about Carrie. She is an asset to your company and exemplifies the true meaning of "CUSTOMER SERVICE".
With the announcement by President Trump on March 11th banning travel to/from Europe starting March 13th (Friday) starting at 11:59pm, TravelPlex has already been reaching out to our clients who are affected by this announcement.
What we do know about the travel ban at this point:
► It only applies to Foreign Nationals, American Citizens are not included in this ban.
►American Citizens returning to the United States after March 13th (Friday) at 11:59am, may be rerouted to ‘select’ US airports for advanced screening. Which ‘select’ US airports has not been announced as of March 12th, at 7am. (We will update this as soon as they are announced).
Let the adventure begin at The Edgewater Hotel — Seattle’s only waterfront hotel. Enjoy amazing views of the Olympic Mountains, the sparkling waters of Elliott Bay and breathtaking sunset views from your room while still staying at one of the best downtown Seattle hotels. This package includes a 3-night stay in a Waterfront room with breakfast for two at Six Seven Restaurant.
I have had the pleasure of being a travel agent since 2007; I joined the TravelPlex team in 2009. As a former teacher, I was excited to learn about the travel industry and have loved working with individuals and groups to plan their perfect getaways.
